This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Remote Accounting Manager. This role is crucial for overseeing the daily operations and monthly closing processes related to financial statements and joint venture rollups. You will play a significant part in ensuring the accuracy of financial data while also identifying areas for improvement and training. By preparing and analyzing complex accounting entries, you will contribute directly to the financial health of the company. Your expertise will help mentor the accounting team and improve processes, driving excellence in financial reporting.
\n- Oversee daily operations and monthly close process for accuracy of financial statements
- Prepare and analyze complex accounting entries related to property transactions
- Review ownership entity contributions/distributions per governing documents
- Reconcile and resolve accounting transactions related to financial statements
- Understand and apply legal agreements to property reporting
- Train and mentor accounting team members as part of their development
- Develop, analyze, and improve accounting department processes
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required
- Minimum 5 years of accounting work experience
- 2+ years in a managerial or related role
- 3+ years in property accounting for joint ventures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows
- CPA License or public accounting experience preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience in real estate and/or property management necessary
- Yardi experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP rules and regulations
