About the Role

The Avionics R&E Lead Technician is responsible to his or her respective department supervisor for all functions assigned to provide airworthiness of the aircraft upon completion of maintenance at the facility.
What you will be responsible for: 

  • Provide Technical Support and Oversight: Be available for consultation on work-related matters, provide guidance and technical advice to assigned technicians, and assist supervisors in reviewing personnel qualifications and maximizing manpower.
  • Aircraft and Job Proficiency: Be accomplished on assigned aircraft and perform on-the-job training to support team development and proficiency.
  • Paperwork and Compliance: Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately, signed, and in compliance with regulations and procedures.
  • Policy and Procedure Enforcement: Ensure direct reports follow company policies and procedures, including EHS policy, AAR Rockford Repair Station Manual, and the SMS Program.
  • Equipment and Aircraft Protection: Ensure proper use of equipment and safeguards to protect customer aircraft and equipment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report personnel performance, productivity, quality, and safety to supervisors, ensuring proper work execution. 
  • Coordination and Additional Duties: Coordinate with relevant departments to manage customer work packages and special considerations and perform all other duties as assigned.


What you will need to be successful in this role: 

  • Associate of Arts degree (AA) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school or 5-years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a current and active FAA A&P License or hold a Repairman Certificate, an FCC certificate, or a Radio Repairman Operator certificate as applicable to the work they are overseeing.

Compensation: 
The anticipated salary range for this position is $27.15 to $33.68 hourly. This range reflects the base pay for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location. AAR offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision/life/and AD&D insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, paid time off and holiday pay, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
