The Counselor serves as a key member of a multidisciplinary team, delivering mental health services to both insured and uninsured clients. This role is responsible for providing direct counseling and therapeutic support to clients of Heritage Health, while ensuring accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in human service field with post graduate experiences and clinical endorsement.
- LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, LAMFT or LMSW
- Working knowledge of administrative procedures of a Federally funded community health center
- Computer skill necessary to maintain client charts and communication within the organization
- Must be able to pass Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Criminal History Unit enhanced background check.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapeutic services to clients in accordance with established treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date counseling records; conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and quality.
- Participate in staff meetings, provider meetings, and other relevant gatherings as required.
- Ensure documentation meets all applicable state and federal regulatory standards.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide accurate clinical diagnoses.
- Complete service notes within 48 hours of client contact.
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic models and best practices in clinical work.
- Demonstrate strong role-modeling, organizational, communication, and client service skills.
- Attend and actively engage in off-site meetings, trainings, and professional development seminars as needed.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, which is a critical requirement of the position.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned to support organizational needs.

Job Overview:
Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment in an office building. Work may be demanding and chaotic at times. May be exposed to patient population that will present a variety of contagious diseases, physical injuries and emotional states of mind.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May lift to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives and assign priorities.
- Deal with a wide variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines with a strong organization skill set for easy retrieval of information and to ensure competent closure of issues.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, maintain alertness and meet the controlled substance policy.
- Manage complex analysis and use deductive reasoning.
