About the Role

As we grow our early years provision, we welcome applications from experienced, motivated educators for the role of Kindergarten Group Curriculum Coordinator, starting July 2026. Lead Early Years Curriculum and Practice in a Leading International School

As Kindergarten Group Curriculum Coordinator at VAS, you will join a supportive and innovative early years team committed to excellence in holistic development. You will lead and coordinate curriculum planning, assessment and pedagogy across our kindergarten classes, supporting teachers to deliver high-quality, play-based, bilingual learning that meets both international early years framework standards and Vietnamese national expectations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation and continuous review of a cohesive kindergarten curriculum that integrates play-based, inquiry-led and bilingual approaches aligned to international early years frameworks and Vietnamese requirements.

  • Coordinate and support classroom teachers in planning differentiated, age-appropriate learning experiences across communication, literacy, numeracy, personal, social and emotional development, physical development and creative arts.

  • Develop and maintain assessment systems and records for formative and summative reporting; use assessment data to inform curriculum improvements and individualised learning plans.

  • Provide regular coaching, modelling and professional feedback to kindergarten teachers; lead reflective practice and peer observation cycles to promote high-quality pedagogy.

  • Ensure consistent classroom environments and routines that promote wellbeing, inclusion, positive behaviour and safeguarding for children aged 3–6 years.

  • Collaborate with campus leaders, SENCO, English and Vietnamese language coordinators, and the wider academic team to promote continuity between kindergarten and primary phases.

  • Lead or contribute to parent engagement initiatives, communicating curriculum intent, learning goals and progress in a clear, culturally sensitive manner.

  • Manage curriculum resources, support purchasing decisions and promote effective use of ICT and learning materials in early years classrooms.

  • Contribute to whole-school events, induction programmes and professional learning communities relevant to early years education.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Early Years Expertise: Strong knowledge of early childhood development and best practice in play-based and inquiry-led pedagogy for children aged 3–6.

  • Leadership and Coaching: Demonstrated experience leading curriculum initiatives, mentoring teachers and implementing effective professional development.

  • Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with international early years frameworks (e.g., EYFS, IB PYP early years, or equivalent) and experience aligning them with local/national expectations.

  • Assessment and Inclusion: Skilled in formative assessment approaches, tracking progress, and adapting provision for diverse learners, including those with additional needs.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills for working with teachers, leaders, families and children from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Years, Primary Education or a closely related field.

  • Recognised teaching qualification and current professional teaching registration or equivalent.

  • Minimum three years’ recent experience in early years classroom teaching and at least two years in a curriculum leadership, coordinator or mentoring role.

  • Strong knowledge of early years assessment, safeguarding and inclusive practice.

  • Excellent English communication skills; proficiency in Vietnamese is desirable but not essential.
