PROFILE
As a Project Manager you will report directly to the National Director, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and will be empowered to work on business-driven transformation projects across all Gowling WLG offices. The Project Manager will be responsible for training project stakeholders on the EPMO methodology and the responsibilities that are inherent to the assigned project team roles.
The EPMO is a high performance team that drives collaboration across all functional areas to help achieve the Firm’s business objectives through quality project delivery.
This is a 14 month contract position and is based in our Toronto office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the entire lifecycle of the assigned project(s) from initiation and planning, execution, cut-over, and closure based on the processes, methodologies and tools designed by the EPMO.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support the business in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Create project plans, which includes project objectives and drivers, expected benefits, scope, approach, risks, assumptions and dependencies, budget, team composition, work breakdown structure, milestones, deliverables.
- Manage established signoff procedures throughout the project lifecycle and report on and track project milestones/deliverables.
- Produce regular status reports and provide updates on GANTT charts, escalations, risk mitigation, and track financials in the EPMO’s project portfolio management tool (PPM).
- Conduct project lessons learned meetings and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Assist in the on-going development of the EPMO methodology by incorporating new tools, techniques and ideas.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8-10 years working as a Project Manager preferably in a professional services environment.
- Certificate in project management by accredited continued learning establishment (PMP or Prince 2 certification preferred).
- Strong organizational, prioritization, time management and leadership skills.
- Strong stakeholder/relationship management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, business units and geographic locations.
- Ability to deliver exceptional client service.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project or any PPM tool.

The starting range for this role is $107,500 to $132,500. Starting salary will be determined based on an applicant’s individual skills, competencies and unique qualifications. Gowling WLG employees have the potential to exceed this range based on tenure and performance.
