Position Description
The Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security technologies across the enterprise. This role will support threat management, incident response, and the ongoing improvement of the organization’s cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate is highly technical, handson, and experienced with Microsoft security solutions, firewalls, EDR platforms, and modern cloud security architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, manage, and optimize Microsoft security solutions (Defender, Sentinel, Entra/Identity Protection).
- Configure and maintain Fortigate firewalls (policies, VPNs, SDWAN, IPS/IDS).
- Administer and tune EDR solutions.
- Support incident response activities, investigations, and rootcause analysis.
- Monitor and respond to threats, alerts, and vulnerabilities.
- Assist with security architecture, system hardening, and network segmentation.
- Optional: Work with SASE technologies (CloudFlare, FortiSASE, Netskope, etc).
- Maintain documentation, procedures, and support audit/compliance requests.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering or security operations.
- Handson experience with: Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID
- FortiGate firewalls
- EDR platforms (Defender, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, etc.)
- Experience in incident response and threat management.
- Strong understanding of networking and cloud security (Azure preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SASE platforms.
- Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR or scripting (KQL, PowerShell, Python).
- Relevant certifications (SC200, AZ500, NSE, GCIH, CySA+).

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Clear communication and ability to work cross functionally.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple security events or tasks.
