JOB SUMMARY: With or without general supervision: perform journey level work in rough and finish carpentry, painting, masonry, concrete finishing, drywall finishing and related construction crafts. Maintains tools, equipment and material stocks. Completes other reports and records as assigned including vehicle reports and accident/safety reports. Operates construction equipment including forklifts and manlifts as assigned. Assists other crafts as assigned. Shift will include 24-hour call and weekend work. 

SUPERVISION EXCERCISED:  None.

LICENSE REQUIRED: Must obtain and hold a Class II gaming license while employed and complete an annual background check with TGA.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR POSITION: High School Diploma or GED required. Journeyman level status in the carpentry trade required; or five (5) years of carpentry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience in all aspects of construction carpentry including demolition, infrastructure and excavation.

PHYCIAL REQUIREMENTS: The candidate must have the ability to: lift and carry 50 lbs., work above ceilings from a ladder and safely operate power and hand tools and equipment common to the carpentry trades, recognize and correctly interpret common safety warning signs and communicate effectively in the English language. Candidate may be called upon to work for long periods of time in uncomfortable environments including wet, hot, cold or windy conditions. Candidate must be able to tolerate working in a smoking environment.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION: Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to the carpentry trade including saws, drills, joiners and sanders. Must be able to operate common construction equipment including compactors, manlifts and forklifts; equipment certificates a plus. Ability to interpret blueprints for developing materials lists and cost estimates and to guide project construction. Must have a current valid Washington state driver’s license and maintain while in this position.

  1. Performs all types of construction work including carpentry, concrete, plumbing and electrical work to complete construction projects.
  2. Installs wood and metal stud frames, doors and jams. 
  3. Accomplishes a variety of finish carpentry work including the trimming of doors, panels and windows.
  4. Finishes surfaces and joints with sandpaper, scrappers and sanders. 
  5. Attaches hinges, catches, and locks. 
  6. Quickly define problems, analyze relevant information and develop solutions.
  7. Works with other trades personnel in the design and fabrication of parts or assemblies as needed.
  8. Maintains an inventory of equipment and materials necessary to ensure a timely response to most routine work requests.
  9. Makes judgment calls based on the understanding of Legends Casino’s purpose, values and objectives while utilizing research, knowledge and experience. 
  10. Executes the policies, procedures, protocols and controls that govern the Facilities Department.
  11. Builds relationships inside and outside their department/team to improve ways of working and providing a great guest experience.
  12. Acts as a mentor to their peers and considers the success of their fellow team members as their own success.
  13. Takes personal responsibility for their performance and constantly strives to improve.
  14. Continues to develop skills so that they can contribute at a higher level.
  15. Models for the team, a strong work ethic and is visible, available and present for the guest and their team.
