About the role

This role is in FlexiTech unit, which is If’s internal software development organization, providing experienced developers to different business domains across the Nordics. We work in cross‑functional agile teams, building and maintaining high‑quality digital solutions used by customers in all Nordic countries.

As part of FlexiTech, you’ll contribute your technical expertise to real business challenges while staying connected to a strong developer community. Your line manager (or Chapter Lead) will support your learning, knowledge sharing, and long‑term career development, ensuring you continue to grow while working on meaningful assignments.

We are now looking for two Software Developers to join FlexiTech and work in two different squads. While both roles share full-stack developer profiles and similar main technologies, the business context and day‑to‑day focus differ.

Option 1 – Claims Intake

You will join the Claims Intake squad in the Nordic Claims domain, building a claims intake platform used by private, commercial, and industrial customers. The work focuses on designing and developing APIs and back-end services using Azure, C#, .NET, and Web APIs.

The team is cross‑functional and distributed across Riga and several Nordic locations, working together to deliver smooth digital claims experiences.

Option 2 – B2B Employee services

You will be part of a squad developing B2B employee services for If’s commercial customers in the Nordic countries. The team focuses on enabling digital self-service solutions and APIs for insured employees, with a back-end development using Azure, C#, .NET, and Web APIs, and strong front-end work using JavaScript, React, Razor and potentially also Next.js.

The team works in an agile setup within the Iffinity tribe and collaborates across locations in Riga, Finland, and Sweden in a friendly, supportive, and continuously improving environment.

What are you going to do?

  • Use and explore possibilities of AI assisted and agentic software development

  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies and continuous improvement of ways of working

What do we expect from you?

  • Several years of hands-on experience in software development (mid-level to senior)

  • Strong backend development expertise using C# / .NET

  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development in .NET

  • Front-end development experience using React and TypeScript/JavaScript

  • Experience working in Git-based environments, including pull requests and code reviews

  • Day-to-day responsibilities require a good/excellent level of English to communicate with clients and colleagues from other countries

  • Good working knowledge of HTML and CSS

  • Experience integrating third-party services via APIs

  • Experience with SQL Server and Entity Framework, or familiarity with NoSQL databases

  • An advantage if you have experience with modern web development frameworks and tools (ASP NET Core 8.0, MVC, RAZOR)

  • Your advantage is if you have experience with Azure Cloud and DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep)

  • Strong debugging and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to solving complex technical problems

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams

  • A collaborative mindset and comfort working with practices such as code reviews and pair programming

  • A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent practical experience
