Summary


The Community Life Director (CLD) (similar to Community Lifestyle Director) at Whitecap is responsible for bringing the community’s vision to life through the creation of meaningful experiences, authentic connections, and a dynamic, engagement-driven environment. This role exists at the intersection of community building, hospitality, and developer-driven marketing, ensuring that Whitecap is not only a place to live, but a place to experience.

In alignment with Cohere’s mission, the CLD will create and promote the community vision throughout the master-planned community development lifecycle, establishing systems and frameworks that support prospect and resident engagement, lifestyle programming, and community operations. The CLD will embody and demonstrate the core values of Trust, Reciprocity, Spirit, and Legacy, while striving to exceed expectations for residents, guests, and developer partners.

As a servant leader, storyteller, and brand ambassador, CLD will translate Whitecap’s identity into a living, breathing experience. This includes designing and executing a robust calendar of events and programs that foster belonging among residents while supporting the developer’s marketing strategy by creating memorable, immersive experiences for prospective buyers and visitors.

The CLD’s most important role is to weave the social fabric of the community, bringing residents, neighbors, stakeholders, and visitors together to create authentic, collective experiences that define Whitecap’s culture and long-term legacy.

Located on North Padre Island, Whitecap is the first and only master-planned community in Corpus Christi. Conveniently located within a reasonable commute from Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, the Rio Grande Valley and Monterrey, this bay-to-gulf coastal destination is planned for a variety of homes, mixed-use facilities, and engaging amenities. Scope

  • The Community Life Director will oversee all aspects of community programming and engagement within Whitecap, with a strong emphasis on experience creation, community activation, and brand alignment.
  • Lead the planning and execution of a comprehensive Community Management program that supports both resident engagement and developer marketing objectives
  • Work collaboratively with Ashlar Development and marketing teams to ensure all programming reflects and reinforces the Whitecap brand and enhances the visitor experience
  • Serve as a visible, community-facing leader who fosters connection, participation, and a strong sense of belonging
  • Develop and implement innovative community-building initiatives designed to establish Whitecap as a vibrant, destination-oriented community
  • Cultivate partnerships with local businesses, creatives, wellness providers, and cultural organizations to enhance programming and extend community reach
  • Build and support resident clubs, committees, and volunteer programs that encourage co-creation and long-term engagement
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, permitting, and compliance for all events and programs
  • Develop and manage an annual programming plan and operating budget aligned with strategic goals and community needs
  • Analyze participation data, resident feedback, and community trends to continuously refine programming and improve outcomes
  • Serve as a key point of contact for community engagement, acting as both a resource and connector for residents and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to ensure alignment between programming, operations, and long-term community strategy
  • Attend and support community events during evenings and weekends as required

Experience | Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in community engagement, event planning, hospitality, or related fields required
  • 7-10 years of leadership and supervisory experience (e.g., supervising staff or volunteers) required
  • Experience supporting marketing-driven or brand-aligned programming preferred
  • Background in master-planned communities, resort environments, lifestyle brands, or mixed-use developments is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to plan, execute, and evaluate high-quality events and programs from concept through completion
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and contracts
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
  • Experience working with volunteers, committees, or community groups preferred
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically in a hands-on role

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • The Community Life Director should expect to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays
  • Ability to provide one’s own transportation; must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and be on feet for extended periods

Pay: $100,000-$110,000 per year; bonus eligibility up to 10% of annual salary
