In a Sentence:

The Seasonal Summer Intern develops Christian character and ministry skills to serve the church by leading the Next Generation to live in the way of Jesus with the heart of Jesus.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the execution of Emmanuel Faith programs and events for children, students, and families.
  • Support ministry staff in administrative and operational tasks such as check-ins, communication, event setup/cleanup, and coordination.
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of age-appropriate ministry content under staff supervision.
  • Help facilitate relational connections with children, students, and families within Emmanuel Faith programs.
  • Assist with logistical needs such as food preparation, supply organization, transportation support (as directed), and general program support.
  • Contribute to media, communication, and outreach efforts (e.g., social media, announcements, video, and promotional materials).
  • Participate in training and development opportunities provided by Emmanuel Faith during scheduled work hours.

Important Clarification Regarding Camps and External Programs:

From time to time, iInterns may choose to be invited to attend camps, conferences, or events hosted by outside organizations (e.g., Hume Lake and Hume Socal).

  • Because When such events are planned, operated, and staffed by an external organization, interns will not be are not functioning as employees of Emmanuel Faith Community Church during those times.
  • Attendance at these events is completely voluntary unless otherwise explicitly stated in writing.
  • Interns who choose to attend do so as participants or volunteers, and not as paid employees, and are subject to the policies and supervision of the hosting organization, if any.

Time Cards: 

  • As a convenience for Summer Interns, your Paylocity time entry will show your scheduled and expected hours and we ask that you make every effort to adhere to this schedule, including taking meal breaks as scheduled (before the start of the 6th hour of work). You must 1) review your Paylocity time card for accuracy and 2) correct any discrepancies each pay period and 3) approve the time card before the deadline (the Monday after the pay period ends).

Organizational Relationships: 

  • This position interacts with church staff, volunteers, congregation members, and outside vendors. Interns report to and are supervised by the designated ministry pastor or director, who provides direction, feedback, and evaluation related to assigned job duties.

Other: 

  • This position requires weekend and evening hours. See job offer for specific hours.
  • Since intern positions are temporary, training positions, interns are considered temporary employees and as such are not eligible for benefits.


Requirements

Time Commitment: 32+ hours/week, plus or including:

  • Camps
  • Weekly events to help reach and grow students.
  • Weekly participation in EFCC staff meetings.
  • Participation in the life of the body through worship gatherings, etc.

Qualifications: (Examples)

  • Christ-centered behavior, i.e., treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity at all times. Be committed to and demonstrate spiritual maturity.
  • Concurs with our Statement of Faith and, if not a member, completes the requirements for church membership and joins within a one-year period.
  • Willing to be actively involved in the appropriate ministries of the church and attends worship services on a regular basis.
  • Have genuine concern for others and the ability to relate well with people.
  • Be teachable and faithful to carry out responsibilities.
  • Have the ability and willingness to be involved in evangelism and discipleship.
  • Has the ability to work with a team in accomplishing ministry goals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Sitting and standing: The ability to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the workday is a common requirement. Occasional standing and walking to move around the office is also standard.

Fine motor skills: Many office jobs require the use of hands for fine manipulation, such as typing on a keyboard, handling small objects, or using a computer mouse.

Vision: Good close-up vision is necessary for activities like reading documents, reviewing data, and using a computer screen for extended periods.

Hearing and speech: The ability to communicate clearly and listen to information, both in person and over the phone, is essential.

Lifting and carrying: While heavy lifting is rare, some positions may require occasionally lifting, carrying, or moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Other movements: Tasks like reaching, bending, and stooping to access files or other objects may be required occasionally.
