About the Role

This Canberra based Site Engineer role is part of the Design and Construct upgrade of the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre, a critical piece of infrastructure supporting Canberra and the surrounding region. Working with ICON Water alongside Vinci Grande Projects and Beca, you’ll be on the ground helping modernise waste handling systems and future-proof the plant for growth and changing environmental standards. You’ll play a key role in turning complex design into safe, high-quality construction that will serve the ACT for decades.

About the role:

  • Provide on-site engineering support to deliver civil works safely and efficiently
  • Manage quality through method statements, ITPs and inspections
  • Track daily productivity and supporting programme planning and reporting
  • Coordinate subcontractors and verifying progress claims and variations
  • Support cost control, procurement and compliance with Seymour Whyte systems

Skills and experience required:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working as a Site Engineer on civil construction projects
  • Strong understanding of safety legislation, Australian Standards and quality systems
  • Confidence producing short-term programmes and monitoring progress on site
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a busy site team

Seymour Whyte, together with Vinci Grande Projects and Beca, has been chosen by ICON Water to deliver the Design and Construct upgrade of the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre - the ACT’s main wastewater treatment facility and the largest of its kind in inland Australia. This four-year project will modernise the plant’s waste handling systems, support future growth, and prepare for potential changes to air emission standards. Located near central Canberra, the upgrade will strengthen and future-proof critical infrastructure for the region.
