About the Role

Schedule: 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday- Friday


Position Overview

Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a variety of duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position is non-supervisory and works part-time during the school year, with the option to work extra hours during school breaks/holidays. Duties include maintaining the facility and projects as needed.


Responsibilities

Facilities:

• Complete routine maintenance tasks as assigned

• Assist Facilities Supervisor with special projects as needed

• Perform and document quality inspections based on Facilities Quality System requirements

• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance tasks to include: grounds care, common areas, trash and recycling, safety inspections, monthly and quarterly inspections, and routine and preventative maintenance as assigned

• Communicate with supervisor when issues occur


Safety:  

• Follow all safety policies


Maintain Work Practices: 

• Maintain work environment to 5S standards

• Punctual: begins work on time and returns from lunch and breaks on time

• All paperwork and database entries filled out completely and accurately

• Promote a positive team atmosphere with co-workers


Marginal Job Functions:

• Other projects as assigned


Requirements

Education:

• High school/Post post-secondary education students 


Experience:

• Construction and facilities class focus, and some experience preferred

• Basic knowledge of Hand and Power Tools.


Other Requirements:

• Basic computer skills required

• Ability to lift 35 lbs regularly, 50 lbs occasionally, and 70+ lbs as a team lift or with material handling equipment
