WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER
The Association of Former Students engages and inspires the Aggie Network for Texas A&M University in perpetuating the Aggie Spirit. Through our Annual Fund, as well as other revenue streams, we provide scholarships, endowments, emergency student loans, and awards for faculty. Our newest colleague will join our Development team in advancing our mission through dedicated support that builds relationships with our donors through gift recognition, annual fund, and development services.

THE ROLE  
The Development Student Assistant fulfills various fundraising and stewardship requests, works with colleagues to create gift recognition materials such as thank you letters and gift receipts, and communicates with donors and constituents. 


 This is a temporary, summer-only position expected to run from May through August 2026. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, support and assist the Development team through:  

  • Administrative support and project maintenance. 
  • Work alongside the Stewardship Specialist to fulfill acknowledgement letters and gift receipts.  
  • Assist Gift Processing to resolve transaction challenges. 
  • Perform related duties as assigned. 
  • Interface with donors via phone, email and in person. 
  • Respond to constituents in a timely manner.

  • Participate in various Association-wide activities such as engagement and fundraising goals, internal event teams, task committees, attending gameday receptions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and other external events as required.  
  • Serve as an ambassador by meeting our Team Expectations, fostering relationships with students and other constituents of Texas A&M.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES  

Minimum Requirements 

  • Strong written and verbal skills. 
  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • Maintain focus while working under timeline pressure. 
  • Proficient word processing skills. 
  • Availability to work May-August 2026.

Preferred Requirements 

  • Availability to work 15 or more hours per week. 
  • Two or more years of work experience in direct customer service role. 

PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit or stand throughout the day. Seldom, but occasionally carrying up to 10 pounds.

EDUCATION & TRAINING  
Required: Currently enrolled at Texas A&M University (College Station) with a minimum of one semester completed.  

Preferred: None.
