About the Role

Description

JOB SUMMARY

Assist Physician with patient examination and treatment, responsible for patient histories, routine diagnostic procedures, as well as some clerical duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and stock all exam rooms
  • Clean and maintain all instruments
  • Prepare patients for examination
  • Take patient history, visual acuity, topography/iTrace, pentacam, pachymetry
  • Take dictation and document medicals while physician is examining patient
  • Administer drops under physician supervision
  • Collect and calculate diagnostic data: K readings, refraction,
  • Assist physician during refractive surgery
  • Travel to multiple locations in Metro Atlanta area
  • Ability to provide coverage for other ophthalmic subspecialties within the practice

Requirements

  • High school diploma or minimum of two (2) years of Ophthalmology tech experience
  • Certification on Vario, Allegretto EX-500 preferred.
  • LASIK experience is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in EMR software (Modmed preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility (may require some early mornings and evenings)
