JOB SUMMARY
Assist Physician with patient examination and treatment, responsible for patient histories, routine diagnostic procedures, as well as some clerical duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and stock all exam rooms
- Clean and maintain all instruments
- Prepare patients for examination
- Take patient history, visual acuity, topography/iTrace, pentacam, pachymetry
- Take dictation and document medicals while physician is examining patient
- Administer drops under physician supervision
- Collect and calculate diagnostic data: K readings, refraction,
- Assist physician during refractive surgery
- Travel to multiple locations in Metro Atlanta area
- Ability to provide coverage for other ophthalmic subspecialties within the practice
Requirements
- High school diploma or minimum of two (2) years of Ophthalmology tech experience
- Certification on Vario, Allegretto EX-500 preferred.
- LASIK experience is preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in EMR software (Modmed preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexibility (may require some early mornings and evenings)
