As a Data Analyst, you will be part of the maritime intelligence R&D research team, driving technological excellence in our mission of safeguarding the naval domain and securing global trade with AI technology.
You will immerse yourself in the fascinating maritime world and complex multi-modal datasets, conducting research and analysis using Python. Your insights will drive strategic decisions and shape the future of our products.
What will you do?
- Analyze diverse datasets to uncover actionable trends, patterns, and anomalies that drive our intelligence capabilities
- Utilize GenAI models for advanced data analysis and as productivity tools
- Ensure the quality and integrity of core intelligence data
- Write Python code to query diverse sources (Postgres, Mongo, S3), conduct deep analysis, and build heuristic models and detection algorithms
- Become a domain expert to interpret data accurately in naval and maritime contexts
- Design clear visualizations to communicate insights to a diverse audience
- Work with a team of domain and technical experts to solve complex challenges
- Join the Data Analysts technical guild to help grow Windward’s data community
Requirements
Who are you?
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics) or equivalent experience as an analyst
- Experience utilizing GenAI tools for analysis, research and coding (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Ollama, etc.)
- Experience using statistical analysis in enterprise or research environments
- Proficiency in Python, with experience using data manipulation libraries (e.g. Pandas, Polars) and visualization libraries (e.g. Plotly, Streamlit)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in naval, maritime or GIS related fields - significant advantage
