About the Role

Egypt Education Platform is looking for a dedicated and experienced Head of Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD) to lead and develop our support services for students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about inclusive education and committed to providing tailored support that enables every student to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the LDD department, providing strategic vision and day-to-day management of support services.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention programs for students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support and inclusion of students with additional needs.
  • Provide training and professional development to staff on best practices in inclusive education and LDD support.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt interventions to maximize learning outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, safeguarding policies, and school regulations.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion within the school community.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in SEND/LDD are highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years experience working in special educational needs, with proven leadership or coordination experience.
  • Strong knowledge of learning difficulties, disabilities, and effective intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring IEPs and delivering professional training is preferred.
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive school culture that supports all learners.
