As a Senior Software Engineer at Lounge by Zalando, you'll join a cross-functional team that will shape the next chapter in our customer experience. You'll collaborate with mobile, web, and backend engineers, as well as product managers and designers, all working towards creating a seamless and delightful shopping journey. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Contribute to the design, development, and operation of scalable, reliable, low-latency backend solutions for our customer facing applications.

• Write clean, robust, and maintainable code, focusing on high quality and automated tests.

• Take an active part in solution design, architecture discussions, technical decisions, and production readiness reviews.

• Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices, using feedback as a means of personal and team growth.

• Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team, iterating quickly during the product development cycle.

• Influence and proactively help in the growth of juniors and peers through mentoring or coaching.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have a deep understanding of microservice architecture, REST services and event based systems in order to build scalable solutions 

• You have experience with Java. Knowledge of the Spring Boot framework is a plus.

• You have a good understanding of SQL and NoSQL (preferably PostgreSQL and AWS DynamoDB).

• Familiarity with Go, AWS and Kubernetes is a plus.

• Passion for working in an agile, cross-functional team, iterating quickly during the product development cycle. As well as, ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering peers.

• You are self-motivated and have a proactive mindset with a passion  for continuous improvement.

• You are proficient in identifying and solving production related issues and bottlenecks in systems.

• You have experience with incident management and root cause analysis.
