Requirements
The Powder Coat Utility team members support the powder coating department by assisting with material preparation, hanging and racking parts, operating coating equipment, quality checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role ensures metal furniture components are properly coated to meet quality, durability, and aesthetic standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload metal parts onto racks or conveyor systems for the powder coating process.
- Prepare metal components by cleaning, masking, sanding, or performing minor surface preparation as needed.
- Assist powder coat operators with color changes, booth cleaning, and equipment setup.
- Inspect parts before and after coating to ensure coverage, finish quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Identify and report defects such as drips, thin coverage, contamination, or damage.
- Maintain production flow to meet daily output goals.
- Perform routine housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks as directed by supervision.
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in powder coating, paint line operations, or manufacturing preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of quality standards and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment and maintain consistent production pace.
