Purpose: The Hospitality Driver / Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting guests, staff, food, and supplies in support of hotel and hospitality operations. This role provides courteous and reliable shuttle service for hotel guests while also supporting catering and event logistics. The Driver serves as a front-line representative of the organization, ensuring a safe, professional, and welcoming experience for all passengers and clients.
Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
· Safely operate company vehicles to transport hotel guests, staff, food, and supplies
· Provide scheduled and on-demand shuttle service for hotel guests (e.g., airport, ferry terminal, local destinations)
· Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage in a courteous and professional manner
· Maintain a high level of customer service; serve as a welcoming first/last point of contact for guests
· Load, secure, transport, and unload catering food, equipment, and supplies safely and in compliance with food safety standards
· Coordinate delivery and shuttle schedules with hotel front desk, kitchen, and event staff
· Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report any vehicle issues promptly
· Maintain cleanliness and readiness of vehicles at all times
· Keep accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts as required
· Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies
· Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed
· Support hospitality operations during downtime (stocking, dishwashing, light prep, etc.)
· Respond appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations during transport
· Uphold organizational values and represent the organization in a professional and culturally respectful manner
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
· Knowledge of safe driving practices and passenger transport safety
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and staff
· Knowledge of local roads, airport/ferry logistics, and weather conditions preferred
· Ability to manage time, routes, and schedules efficiently
· Ability to remain calm and responsive in high-pressure or unexpected situations
· Basic knowledge of food handling and safe transport procedures (or ability to learn)
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Strong attention to safety, detail, and cleanliness
Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):
· High school diploma or GED
· Must be 21 years of age with a Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (must meet insurability requirements)
· One (1) – Two (2) years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, skills):
· Prior experience as a driver in a workplace setting.
