Job Description
We are looking for a Principal Game Designer to serve as a key partner to the Game Director. This role is designed for a highly experienced professional who wants to shape the core of our project by working in close, active collaboration with the Director and the broader development team.
This is a role for a leader who excels at bridging the gap between high-level creative vision and daily production. You will act as a primary collaborator for the Game Director, ensuring that creative intent is clearly translated, understood, and executed across all game systems.
This position requires someone who thrives in complex development environments, a leader who engages deeply with the team to identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot design challenges, and ensure the project remains coherent, cohesive, and high-quality from inception to completion.
Your Goal:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Game Director, ensuring alignment between the overarching creative vision and the daily output of the design team.
- Act as a bridge between leadership and the development teams, fostering clear communication and shared design goals.
- Maintain the integrity of the project’s design through active participation in reviews and collaborative problem-solving.
- Ensure all systems, gameplay, AI, and mechanics are polished, balanced, and fully integrated to meet our AAA standards.
Your Daily Tasks:
- Partner with the Game Director to define and refine design pillars, challenging assumptions constructively to ensure the best possible outcomes for the game.
- Engage directly with the design, art, and engineering teams to address complex issues. You will move beyond high-level oversight to help the team analyze, debug, and resolve systemic design roadblocks.
- Regularly attend and lead design reviews, providing actionable, clear feedback that pushes the team toward higher quality and better cohesion.
- Act as a central point of contact between departments (e.g., Code, Art, Animation) to ensure that design requirements are clear and that dependencies are managed effectively.
- Contribute to providing high-level guidance to the design team, setting the standard for design documentation, execution, and analytical thinking.
Qualifications
Your Qualifications:
- Significant experience in AAA game development, with a proven track record of shipping major titles as a Senior, Lead, or Principal Designer.
- A strong, proactive approach to problem-solving; you are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to work alongside the team to navigate complex production challenges.
- High degree of polyvalence with deep expertise across various systems (e.g., core gameplay loops, AI, progression systems).
- Excellent analytical and communication skills; you can clearly articulate design requirements and influence stakeholders at all levels, from technical leads to executive management.
- A collaborative mindset; you prioritize the health of the project and the success of the team over individual contribution.
- Very good command of English.
Additional Information
What we offer:
- A dedicated Buddy who will support you in your daily tasks.
- A wide array of benefits: private medical care, life insurance, pro-health campaigns, gifts for different occasions.
