Charge Nurse – Lead Care Where It Matters Most
At Redwood Coast Medical Services (RCMS), we don’t just provide care—we show up for the communities that depend on us.
We’re looking for a Charge Nurse with strong clinical skills and a team-focused mindset—someone who bring significant lead role experience in supporting a team of medical assistants, RN’s and medical technicians, or demonstrated leadership roles in other clinical settings.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll balance direct patient care with helping keep our clinics and urgent care operating in an organized and supportive setting for a great team of employees. You’ll work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, who leads day-to-day clinic operations of several departments in two locations, while you support clinical flow and serve as a key resource to the team.

What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care, including nurse visits, immunizations, and Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
- Support daily clinical operations, program compliance, and safety in patient care
- Serve as a resource for nursing staff, medical assistants, and care teams
- Assist with onboarding and manage the training programs of clinical staff
- Partner with providers and population health teams to support preventive care and close care gaps
- Contribute to quality and patient safety initiatives
- Provide occasional clinical support in urgent care as needed
What You Bring
- Active California RN license
- Experience in primary care or community health (FQHC or rural health preferred), urgent care experience is a bonus for this role
- Strong clinical skills in preventive care, immunizations, and patient education
- Clear communication and a collaborative, problem-solving approach
- Willingness to take initiative, learn quickly, and step in to support the team
Experience supporting or mentoring others is essential for this role.
