We are looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for day shift. The ideal candidate should be motivated, detail-oriented and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, continually changing environment. We have a team-oriented approach and need someone who is willing to cross-train to support other Team members.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Prepare orders for shipment: package goods, prepare shipping documents and input shipping transactions in the computer system
· Receive, unpack and input incoming goods in the computer system
· Unload delivery vehicles using pallet jack or forklift
· Perform brief visual inspection of incoming product
· Complete shipping and receiving reports
· Perform counting, packaging, labeling, and inventory storage tasks
· Input inventory transactions into computer system: issue materials to work orders, close/stock work orders, receipt/shipment of items and inventory transfers
· Report damages and discrepancies on incoming or outgoing materials to appropriate management
· Identify nonconformities in shipping and receiving documentation and communicates issues to appropriate management
· Maintain inventory system integrity, including verifying part counts and packing slips
· Maintain traceability of all materials and verify associated documentation for accuracy
· Assist with maintaining housekeeping standards in shipping/receiving and storage areas
· Support operations department objectives to meet shipping schedules and inventory control metrics
Requirements
Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related role
· Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment preferred
· Equivalent combination of education and experiences considered
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for inventory management and shipping/receiving
· Good computer skills, including ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite
· Forklift certification required (can be achieved during on-the-job training)
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
· Ability to communicate with others on basic technical issues
· General knowledge of MRP/ERP software
· Ability to manage multiple demands in a professional manner
Work Schedule, Environment and Physical Demands
· Work schedule is 4-10s, Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
o OT may be available depending on workload
· OUR SHOP IS TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED AND CLEAN!
· Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment
· Ability of lift, push, pull or move up to 35 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. rarely, and 75 lbs. with assistance
· Constant periods of standing and walking required
· Must have constant free mobility of hands and arms; physical and manual dexterity required.
· Must be able to pass vision tests required by our QMS
Compensation and Benefits
Starting Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $24.00
