JOB SUMMARY

CityTeam is a Christian non-profit dedicated to supporting communities by meeting immediate needs and enabling lasting solutions for those struggling with poverty, homelessness, and addiction. The Driver is a key member of CityTeam in the Neighborhood. You will regularly interact with donors, volunteers, guests, and staff. It is important that our Driver provides outstanding customer service, has good project management skills, and has a heart for service. The Driver will roll up sleeves and chip in wherever and however needed to support our food programs.

We work in a fast-paced, highly unpredictable atmosphere with limited resources. Our ideal candidate will be able to function well under pressure and handle difficult situations with grace. You will need to be flexible and able to work independently and collaboratively. In addition to following directions, our Driver will need to be able to take initiative and communicate effectively. If you are looking for a hands-on ministry involving both facilities and people, this may be the position for you.

The Driver is a full-time non-exempt position wrapped up in a Christian environment that values Teamwork, Accountability, Humility, Innovation, and Joy.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ministry

1. Graciously pick-up food donations in a timely manner.

2. Maintain cleanliness and order of trucks, equipment, and supplies required to perform job and report any maintenance needed.

3. Operate all equipment in a safe manner (forklift, pallet jack, box truck, etc.)

4. Communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of socioeconomic, education, and cultural backgrounds.

5. Oversee the handling of donations as assigned and report to the Food Program Supervisor. This includes, but is not limited to:

a. Weighing and documenting all Philabundance Grocer’s Against Hunger Donations.

b. Overseeing the proper receiving, processing, and storing of donated goods

6. Other duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 21 years of age or older

· Valid Driver’s License with a clean record

· No DUI in the past 10-years

Preferred Education and Experience

· Customer Service experience

· Prior truck driving experience

Physical Demands

· Stand or sit for prolonged amounts of time

· Walk, bend, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

· Talk and hear.

· Push 100 pounds; 1,000 pounds with pallet jack.

· Lift and carry 75 pounds.

· Drive

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

· Finger and hand dexterity to feel, handle, and operate objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms.

· Drive, park, and unload legally and in a safe manner.

Work Conditions

· Typical days of work will be Tuesday- Saturday.

· The exact days and hours of operation will vary depending on ministry and scheduling needs.

· This position will need to work early mornings and weekends.

· This position regularly works outside and will be exposed to a variety of weather-conditions, including rain, heat, wind, and cold.

· This position will frequently work on wet and slippery surfaces.

· This position will frequently drive, park, and unload in urban, rural, and suburban areas.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications for CityTeam

· Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ

· Must be active in a local Christian body of believers or at least pursuing community with other Christ-followers

· Must have compatible theology on major issues of CityTeam's Statement of Faith

· Must be committed to serving God and the body of Christ
