Job purpose
Shredfast, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to support our hardworking team in Airway Heights, WA. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and is looking for a consistent, flexible schedule while maintaining meaningful impact.
Working directly with company leadership, this position plays a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance, and helping drive a positive, productive workplace culture.
This is a critical support role within the organization where your work directly supports daily operations, employee experience, and long-term organizational success.
Schedule
- Part-Time: 30 hours per week
- Monday – Thursday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (flexible within business needs)
- Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities
This role covers a broad range of HR functions, including:
- Maintain and update employee policies, handbook, and internal communications
- Clearly communicate company policies and procedures to staff
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Conduct exit interviews and support employee transitions
- Assist biweekly payroll in Paylocity, including timecard and PTO review
- Oversee benefits administration, including 401(k) coordination and enrollments
- Handle compliance-related items:
- FMLA / PFMLA
- L&I claims
- OSHA reporting (300, 300A, 301)
- COBRA and garnishments
- Support performance management and employee reviews
- Partner with leadership on disciplinary actions, including terminations
- Coordinate safety programs, committee meetings, and staff training
- Assist with annual benefits renewals alongside broker
- Coordinate company events and internal engagement efforts
Requirements
What You Bring
- Minimum 3+ years of HR experience
- Experience with payroll systems (Paylocity preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Benefits administration
- Compensation and wage structures
- Employment compliance and HR best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Docs
- Experience creating internal communications and materials, including presentations, company announcements, and slideshows (Canva or similar tools)
- Working knowledge of workplace safety practices, including supporting PPE compliance, safety training, and employee safety program coordination
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and professional judgment
- Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and accountability
- Detail-oriented and thorough in execution
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
