The Information Technology Associate (Mid) provides advanced technical support for Navy IT systems, networks, and infrastructure. This role is responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, supporting system administration functions, and ensuring that IT environments operate efficiently, securely, and in compliance with DoD standards.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Support
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and enterprise applications
- Support system upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization initiatives
- Manage system configurations and ensure operational continuity
Advanced Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions
- Support incident management and resolution processes
Network & Infrastructure Operations
- Support management and maintenance of network infrastructure components
- Assist in implementing network configurations, monitoring performance, and resolving connectivity issues
- Contribute to system performance tuning and infrastructure improvements
Security & Compliance
- Ensure systems adhere to DoD/Navy cybersecurity standards and policies
- Assist with vulnerability remediation, patch management, and system hardening
- Support compliance with RMF-related activities and security audits
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system configurations
- Provide recommendations for improving system performance and reliability
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years experience OR 10+ years relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- Systems administration
- Networking and infrastructure
- IT troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Preferred certifications:
- Security+
- Network+
- Microsoft or Linux certifications
