About the Role

Job Title:    Material Handler 

Shift:     2:00pm - 10:30pm; Sunday - Monday, Thursday - Saturday 

Compensation:   28.84

Summary:    

The Material Handler is responsible for loading /unloading trucks and moving & racking palletized materials in a safe and effective manner, accurately completing documentation, and

  maintaining the warehouse in a sanitary manner as required by company procedures and guidelines.  

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Using various forklifts, moves palletized materials within a cool store environment. This includes unloading and loading trucks & moving materials into and out of racks.
  • Ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Uses electronic inventory management tools in a safe and accurate manner. Ensures that records are accurate.
  • Repack inventory as required to ensure accurate Infinium documents.
  • Repack consumer blocks/wheels as required.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping in all areas of control, finished product coolers, and building exterior.  
  • Follow operational procedures and complete required paperwork.
  • Follow all safety procedures, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), and quality control procedures.
  • Assist with product grading as required.
  • Maintain equipment used/assigned to department in a clean and working state.
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe and effective manner.
  • Follow company procedures during the completion of all tasks.
  • Assist in any other areas of the warehouse/distribution center as required.

Qualification/Requirements: 

  • Previous experience in Material Handling or warehouse operation will be an advantage. 
  • Required to successfully pass the company forklift operator’s license training. 
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent skills by experience. 
  • Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral directions in English
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Must demonstrate basic math skills.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language.

 Physical Requirements: 

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. The employee must be able to lift, bend, stoop, push/pull exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Requires visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.   There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.
