Senior Associate (PE), Structural - “High-Rise & Complex Buildings” I Singapore

Job Role:

The Senior Associate (SA) is expected to play a pivotal a role model on technical competence, implementation of strong design / project delivery processes, professional governance, and a high-performance culture and excel in project deliveries for the Buildings teams within Singapore and APAC region.

The Senior Associate to work with Technical Director, or Projects Director to improve and strengthen the design process, project deliveries.

The Senior Associate Is also expected to support and execute Buildings APAC strategy and new business opportunities.

Responsibility Areas:

  • Mentor, build, support and lead design teams.
  • Responsible, support and lead structural design, producing and coordinating the production of project deliverables including but not limited to reports, calculations, tender submissions, technical documentations, sketches, presentations, drawings and specifications.
  • Responsible and lead initial design concept through to detailed design, supervision, and closure of projects and quality assurance of structures. As a part of the global High-rise spearhead team, you can expect to be working on projects in Singapore and globally, in sectors such as commercial, hospitality and residential, etc.
  • Prepare and lead design of structures, carry out the structural analysis and design including Finite Element analysis, design, preparation of detailed design reports, calculations, sketches and drawings.
  • Coordinate with BIM modellers and technicians for the preparation of BIM models and drawings aligned with the client’s requirements and design intent.
  • Lead and coordinate project deliverables and submissions to authorities.
  • Review drawings, calculations, reports and other project deliverables.
  • Lead Design management and coordination with other design disciplines.
  • Participating in bids and tenders.
  • Support opportunity creation and business development in our consultancy teams working on and delivering high quality projects to clients;
  • Lead and participate in:
  • Preparing client/project proposals
  • Negotiating fee proposals and requesting additional fees
  • Structuring project teams from internal and external resources align with wider Buildings team
  • Procuring project resources
  • Planning projects
  • Assist in growing the business and strengthen the Ramboll brand
  • Undertake other management / leadership tasks that may be assigned by the management from time to time.

KPI Metrics

  • Client Satisfaction. Does the client, (developer/architect), feel that the project and their expectations are being met with efficient, technical and creative solutions.
  • Design Excellence. Be seen as a leader in Engineering and be able to provide efficient, technical and creative solutions to challenges.
  • Project Delivery. Work with multiple design teams to produce and deliver high quality engineering solutions to our clients.
  • Financial Performance. Work within the budgets, recognise opportunities and ensure changes to baseline scope are recognised.

Qualifications

  • A relevant bachelor / master’s degree, or relevant qualification, chartered registration
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience and experience working as key project design lead / manager.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and in writing.
  • Proficiency with common structural design software e.g. ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE;
  • Knowledge or interest of parametric software for structural optimisation (e.g. Rhino, Grasshopper) is an advantage;
  • International mindset and an ability to drive collaboration across construction disciplines, both within Ramboll and externally.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to develop practical solutions.
  • Attention to details.
