About the Role

Service Coordinator II – Transitional Housing | Southeastern Connecticut | Norwich, CT

Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) is an award-winning, nationally and locally recognized leader in substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment in Southeastern Connecticut. We are proud recipients of the Top Workplace award, 2023 Non-Profit of the Year and 2023 Executive Director of the Year honors from the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce, and recognition as a Top Tier organization, and a Recovery Friendly Workplace.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Service Coordinator II to oversee the daily operations and service delivery of an assigned residential program — supervising a team and ensuring effective, high-quality care in full compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits
  • Multiple Medical Plans to fit your needs and budget
  • Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 403(b) Retirement Plan with 10% employer match at 1 year
  • Vacation and Sick accruals
  • 11 paid Holidays
  • 40 hours of paid Education/Training annually
  • Paid Licensure Reimbursement
  • Meaningful leadership work making a lasting difference in the lives of individuals in recovery

What You'll Do:

As a Service Coordinator II, you will be the operational heart of your assigned residential program — leading staff, supporting clients, ensuring safety and compliance, and serving as a key link between frontline care and organizational leadership. You will bring both hands-on presence and strategic oversight to create a stable, recovery-oriented environment where clients and staff can thrive.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and support program staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development
  • Orient and train new staff on residence-specific technology, systems, required documentation, and client support
  • Create schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and staffing levels for each shift in alignment with applicable regulations and policies
  • Facilitate and oversee the medication self-administration process and ensure compliance with protocols required by the assigned residence, where applicable
  • Ensure that client medications are available and properly disposed of at the time of discharge in accordance with residence protocols, and that staff are well trained in this process, for programs without required nursing oversight
  • Manage medical, behavioral, emergency, or other issues quickly and efficiently, keeping the environment safe and notifying the appropriate authority or management staff as needed
  • Identify and report incidents and potential risk situations promptly, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure adherence to safety, health, licensing, and regulatory standards in the residence
  • Ensure required documentation, policies, and standards of work are followed within the scope of organizational protocols
  • Provide direct care as needed to meet contractual and licensing regulatory requirements
  • Orient clients to the residence and review program rules and regulations
  • Provide on-call support and respond to crises to ensure continuity and quality of services, including after-hours urgent issues as needed
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and monitor census forecasts, staffing patterns, and general program concerns
  • Collaborate across departments as needed to coordinate services and resources
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development for staff
  • Attend on-site and off-site meetings and training as required
  • Participate in the orientation of new employees and the transfer of knowledge essential to the performance of duties

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 2 years of leadership experience, ideally in a recovery or related residential program; an Associate's degree with equivalent experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
  • Valid and unrestricted Driver's License with the ability to drive an agency vehicle
  • CPR Certification required within 6 months of employment
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented practice, and SCADD's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced residential environment
