Job Description
Our Urban Development team is growing! We're seeking a technically excellent Principal Engineer to join our team based in Brisbane who is interested to make their mark leading impactful projects locally within QLD and nationally!
This is an opportunity ideal for a Chartered Engineer with strong leadership skills and significant technical expertise in large scale Greenfields and Brownfield developments, Commercial developments, Medium Density projects, Parks and Sports fields, Open Spaces and Urban Development projects. This is an exciting opportunity with future team and/or business management pathways for the successful candidate.
You'll be responsible for:
- Provide technical expertise and advice through the different stages of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies, design strategies, construction, system integration and support, to testing & commissioning
- Lead a team of engineers, providing technical advice and direction to all employee levels through technical challenges and issues
- Lead meetings with project stakeholders including clients, other Egis disciplines as well as external consultants
- Assist in reviewing technical deliverables such as technical option reports, engineering principles & studies, detail designs and test procedures, etc. to ensure compliance to relevant standards
- Manage work technically and contractually to ensure that it meets technical requirements and is performed within the bounds of the organisation’s policies and procedures
- Lead and deliver high quality proposal documentation, fee estimation, methodology development, client liaison and contract negotiation
- Lead Quality Assurance, QA, and Quality Control, QC, of Civil design projects.
- Undertake financial management of projects by monitoring the actual time and cost expended on the total project against the budget, informing client of any changes in scope of work or other causes of variances from project resources.
Qualifications
Ideally, you will have 12+ years’ experience with demonstrated technical expertise with urban development engineering. In addition, you will also have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- CPEng status (or close to obtaining)
- RPEQ or willingness to obtain
- Experience in successfully managing projects meeting Client objectives.
- Strong technical expertise in civil design with knowledge of relevant guidelines, Australian Standards, and Local Council Planning Schemes.
- Strong understanding of greenfield projects, water environments, and water resource management.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills for facilitating internal and external stakeholder engagements and business development opportunities.
