Job Description: Shipping Clerk
Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers on five continents. Our products can be used in a wide variety of industries, such as the automotive and office chair manufacturing industries, furniture technology, solar industry, medical technology, and many other industrial applications.
Job Summary:
A Shipping Clerk must prepare outgoing shipments in compliance with detailed customer requirements. This is on 3rd shift which is from 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Sunday – Thursday. There may be opportunities to work some overtime on weekends. The position will be located at our U.S. Corporate Headquarter location in Gastonia, NC.
Essential Job Functions:
- Applicant must be experienced in the pulling, labeling, scanning, and posting of orders.
- SAP understanding of all movement transactions and manipulation of scanner data is required.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with final assembly in preparation of daily shipments.
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment with a strong team focus.
- Must be motivated to work efficiently and productively with limited supervision.
- Applicant must be willing to learn other warehouse jobs roles for team support.
- Email communication of order status with CSRs and warehouse team members is required.
Job Requirements
Education, Training, Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Must have 1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Must have at least 6 months experience and be proficient operating order pickers, forklifts, and turret trucks. Previous material handling equipment certification preferred.
- Applicant must be able to identify all customer specific parts and prepare accordingly.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to investigate inventory discrepancies is mandatory.
- Good attendance record is required.
- Must learn how to drive the docking tractor, and back 53’ trailers to the docks.
- Strong basic math skills and ability to communicate well with supervisors and team.
- Weekend work and extended shift hours will be required as needed.
- Support of receiving weekend inbound STMX deliveries is required.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of warehouse processes, procedures, and safety standards
- Good computer skills. Previous experience with warehouse systems and RF scanners preferred.
- General inventory control, FIFO, Cycle Counting and KAN-BAN principles.
- Knowledgeable of 5S and Lead Manufacturing Principles

Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Reasoning Ability
Must have good reasoning ability.
- Mathematical Skills
Basic mathematical skills a must.
- Contact with Others
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of associates including management.
- Resourcefulness and Initiative
Performs operations with recognized procedural methods. Most tasks are routine in nature.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment with continuous forklift operation present
- Standing, walking, and bending will be performed for the entire shift.
- Exposure to dust and a variety of weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, etc.)
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
