In 1966, Grace Manufacturing was founded as a machine, tool and die shop. At that time, the company’s name was Grace Engineering. We provided the machine tool and computer peripheral industries with cost effective solutions to critical parts machining problems. This experience in the production of precision parts has served us well in the years that followed. In early 1978, after extensive research and development, we began producing photochemical machined precision parts for the computer peripheral market. In 1988, electromechanical assembly operations were added Production wire EDM came along in 1992, followed by expansion of the metal stamping operation. We purchased our first Amada Co2 laser cutting system in 1999. In the 2000’s many new technologies have been added, including: Heat treating, injection molding, and clean room packaging. Today, Grace Manufacturing serves the needs of many industries with precision metal parts via several different processes or even a combination of processes. During the past three decades, Grace’s precision parts program has evolved into one of the finest in the industry. Our highly trained personnel have the unique talent of applying their experience to the exploration of new technologies and production techniques. Their eagerness and technical know-how has contributed greatly to solving the problems related to mass production of high precision parts, while continually seeking and exploring improved results through innovative manufacturing techniques.
About the Role

Description

Grace Manufacturing specializes in precision metal services and medical manufacturing, providing customers with custom metal parts using different processes or a combination of processes. We are seeking qualified candidates for a CNC Operator position at our Manufacturing facility in Russellville, Arkansas.

  

This is a production role in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for the following:

  

Setup and operate CNC equipment (Okuma and Mori Seiki lathes, Citizen Swiss machines, Okuma and Haas machining centers)


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow setup sheets to tear down and setup CNC equipment (tooling, fixtures, offsets, bar loaders, etc.)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance and keep machines clean and safe
  • Identify and report defects, malfunctions, or safety issues
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records
  • Record production data, scrap, and downtime in the ERP system
  • Accurately report labor and machine time using the ERP system
  • Follow all company safety and quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  

Key Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Technical degree or formal technical/vocation education is a plus
  • Attention to detail and quality 
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn CNC machining
  • Basic computer skills, including ability to use ERP or manufacturing systems
  • Ability to read measurements and perform basic math
  • Previous manufacturing, machine operator, or shop-floor experience a plus
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret part prints and specifications supplied by internal and external customers a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time  
  • Must be able to stand approximately 90% of the time 
  • Must be able to walk across the plant regularly
  • Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office machinery such as copiers, telephones, calculators, etc. Must be able to operate machinery, use hand tools and power tools. 
  • Must be able to communicate verbally in person and on the telephone with employees, vendors and others. Must be able to exchange accurate and concise information in these situations either with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to view a computer screen, see monitors during meetings and see paper reports in order to understand and interpret information.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
