Purpose:
The Spot Welder is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly equipment and automated production lines. The spot welder must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards with regard to assembly specifications.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
1. Set up and operate resistance welders, MIG welders, and assembly/automated equipment
2. Perform machine set-ups as needed when the production schedule demands.
3. Troubleshot machines and adjust the functions and settings of machines
4. Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines
5. Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
6. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
7. Participate in 6S activities
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
2. 1+ years of previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
3. Prior welding or assembly machine experience desired.
4. Working knowledge of resistance and MIG welders
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
6. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
7. Analytical and problem-solving skills
8. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts is desired
9. Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
10. Attention to detail
11. Must have excellent attendance as well as willingness and ability to work overtime
