Old Thorns Hotel & Resort is a four-star hotel, set in 400 acres of picturesque Hampshire countryside and offers customers a unique experience all in one place. It is easily accessible from the A3, only 30 minutes from the M25 and Portsmouth.

With bedrooms, residences & penthouses, a championship golf course, meeting and events spaces, restaurants, a health club and a beauty spa, Old Thorns is the ideal destination for our customers to enjoy a night away, staycation, wedding, event, golf break, conference and much more.

Our health club is an extensive 20,000sqft with Matrix state of the art equipment and has fantastic views across our championship golf course. Our wet facilities include a 20m pool, subtropical pool, sauna, steam room and a bubble pool.

We are passionate about supporting and providing excellent service to both new and existing members of our Health Club. Therefore, this role will mainly consist of inspiring and supporting our Health Club members to help them reach their personal goals.

Working as part of our Health Club team, you will be passionate and knowledgeable about health and fitness and be confident in providing members with outstanding inductions, programmes and training experience.

Main Responsibilities:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of and actively promote Health Club facilities, events, promotions and policies.
• Meet and greet members, potential members and hotel guests with a friendly, engaging approach.
• Assist on the Health Club reception desk.
• Deliver high quality inductions, consultations, programmes and classes to all members.
• Engage with members of the club and encourage bookings for inductions, classes, personal training, etc.
• Continually learn and develop by researching, training and testing the latest trends in the industry.
• Ensure the Health Club is always well presented and high standard of cleanliness are maintained.
• Undertake other relevant routine tasks as required.

The role will give you the opportunity to learn and develop, with the potential to progress within the company.

What are we looking for?

• Level 2 Fitness instructor (Gym) – Essential
• Level 3 Personal trainer - Desirable
• Able to work on a flexible rota (including weekend and evening work)
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Experience and ability to teach classes
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for sport/fitness and well being
