Brief Summary of Position:

The position of DC Assembly and Test Technician will be working at our facility in Ontario, CA. In this position, you will be building precision electro/mechanical devices, testing and tuning these devices to meet specifications. Perform VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) and other testing and calibrating of coaxial and waveguide components, DC 0.5 - 110GHz, while maintaining quality assurance records.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Build precision electro-mechanical devices using engineering drawings, instructions and work orders.
  • Perform VSWR, insertion loss, impedance testing on the products, and perform calibration of coaxial and waveguide components using VNA or HP 8510 network analyzers, other testing equipment or setups.
  • Verifies conformance of finished goods, performs detailing of finished goods to meet customer demands and ensures 100% quality.
  • Complies with Maury Microwave quality systems, including correctly completing all related documents.
  • Must work with a sense of urgency and be willing to hold peers accountable for the quality of work.
  • Reports on non-conforming products per department procedures and works with quality on corrective actions.
  • Trains lower and mid-level techs on mechanical assembly, testing, tuning and calibration.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Associate of Science degree in RF, electronics or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years in a microwave lab or similar environment successfully testing, tuning, calibrating, analyzing, and troubleshooting microwave waveguide and coaxial components.
  • Knowledge of HP 8510 Network Analyzer and/or PNA required.
  • RF theory knowledge a plus.
  • Able to inspect components and use micrometers, calipers, and interface gauges.
  • Capable of reading engineering drawing, schematics and test specifications.
  • PC literate and ability to quickly learn test software (MMC iTune, IV CAD, IQSTAR, etc).
  • Able to effectively communicate with others in the various technical disciplines within the Company.
  • Mechanical and small motor drive experience and soldering ability desired.
  • Punctual and willing to work Overtime as needed to meet production demands.
  • Clear vision at close distance (20 inches or less) and able to distinguish colors.

Work Hours

Standard work hours of 40 per week but may be requested to work overtime as deemed necessary. Standard work scheduled is 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
