POSITION OBJECTIVE |
The Health Club Attendant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Health Club during assigned shifts, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all members, hotel guests, and employees. This role focuses on delivering consistent guest service, enforcing Health Club policies, maintaining facility standards, and supporting membership access and renewals in alignment with established procedures.
The Health Club Attendant works independently during assigned shifts while escalating complex issues to leadership as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS |
- Open and/or close the Health Club in accordance with established SOPs, as scheduled
- Greet and assist members, hotel guests, and employees in a friendly and professional manner
- Verify membership status and access eligibility for all users
- Enforce Health Club policies, including:
- Membership and access guidelines
- Liability waiver requirements
- Guest pass policies and restrictions
- Check members, guests, and employees in using EZFacility
- Support membership renewals and payment capture at the desk
- Conduct regular facility walk‑throughs to ensure:
- Equipment sanitation and cleanliness
- Organization and presentation of all areas
- Adequate stocking of towels and amenities
- Report maintenance, safety, or cleanliness issues promptly
- Address basic guest concerns and escalate service recovery situations to leadership when appropriate
- Complete accurate and detailed shift reports in Microsoft Teams
- Maintain consistency between shifts through clear documentation and communication
- Support Health Club initiatives, programs, and daily operational needs
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE |
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in hospitality, wellness, fitness, or guest service environments preferred
- Experience working in a membership‑based environment is a plus
- Prior cash‑handling or POS experience preferred
REQUIREMENTS |
- Strong guest service and communication skills
- Ability to enforce policies confidently while maintaining a welcoming demeanor
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and presentation standards
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn systems such as EZFacility and OPERA
- Dependability and professionalism
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings/evenings
PHYSICAL DEMANDS |
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds (towels, supplies, light equipment)
- Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the facility
- Ability to perform regular cleaning and sanitization tasks
WORK ENVIRONMENT |
- Indoor wellness and fitness facility, including gym and locker rooms
- Regular exposure to outdoor elements while supporting pool, hot tub, and sauna areas year‑round
- Exposure to cleaning products and fitness equipment
- Moderate noise level typical of a gym or recreational environment
- Independent work environment during certain shifts with leadership support available as needed
