About the Role

Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Industrial team, supporting a growing and long-term portfolio of regional industrial work. This is a site‑based delivery role offering real responsibility, strong client exposure and the backing of Beca’s wider national capability.

You’ll work closely with key Southland-based clients across the dairy and heavy industries, delivering a mix of sustaining capital and larger regional industrial projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your project delivery experience and lead work in a highly visible regional environment with genuine end‑to‑end ownership and autonomy.

He aha tāu mahi | What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering sustaining capital projects such as equipment replacements, safety upgrades, reliability improvements and compliance works
  • Supporting major capital projects as they arise
  • Managing projects end to end, from scope and planning through to delivery - working alongside client teams with support from Beca’s wider national capability
  • Building strong, trusted client relationships through consistent, high-quality delivery
  • Working confidently and independently in a site based delivery environment, partnering with operational teams and key stakeholders, drawing on national project support where needed

Ko wai koe | About you

You’re an experienced engineer who thrives on responsibility, autonomy and client-facing project delivery. You take pride in being hands-on, practical and trusted to deliver.

You’ll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience ideally within industrial brownfield or operational environments
  • Experience managing projects up to $5 million, including scope, programme, cost and risk
  • The ability to work independently in a regional delivery environment
  • A client-focused, practical mindset, with strong problem-solving skills
