About the Role

Description

 The Load / Unload Operator safely performs daily activities involved in loading and unloading trucks, railcars, and any other vehicle or material container. The Load / Unload Operator reports to the Operation Supervisor and functionally reports to the Logistics Manager.

Key Responsibilities'


  • Start up, operate, maintain, and shut down equipment by documented operating procedures.
  • Validate the driver’s paperwork with the correct weight ticket and complete required paperwork.
  • Complete planning operating work tasks in alignment with priorities set by Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and Logistics Manager.
  • Monitor loading/unloading areas to ensure that materials in vehicles and containers are not in danger of overflowing.
  • Report loading/unloading deviations, or other concern to production shift supervisor/production manager upon discovery.
  • Comply with regulatory, company policies and procedures including safety.
  • Ensure lines and valves are properly set up by documented operating procedures before loading.
  • Perform Job Cycle Checks (JCCs) while performing a job to confirm the procedure content truly reflects the operating practice.
  • Troubleshoot when problems associated with receiving tank level information.
  • Train other operators in loading/unloading work tasks and activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and loading/unloading areas in accordance with good housekeeping and safety rules.
  • Possess practical knowledge of BQ 9000 concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Understand Bioenergy Quality Policy and dedication to consistently and safely providing quality products that meet the needs of our customers.
  • May serve on an Employee Safety (Involvement) Committee.

  

Qualifications


High School Diploma or GED required.

At least 1 to 3 years of coordination plant work experience or closely similar chemical industrial plant manufacturing setting

Strong trouble shooting and critical thinking skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to walk for prolonged periods.

Able to work at multi-levels.

Able to climb straight ladders.

Able to lift 50 pounds.


  

This is a full-time position that reports to the Production Manager.  The work schedule for this position is 12-hour fixed shifts. This role may be required to overtime hours outside regular shift schedule to support non-routine work and plant turnarounds The Memphis biodiesel manufacturing plant operates on a 7-day, 24-hour schedule.
