Position: Life Coach X

Location: Walton, New York

Salary: $22.88 per hour

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 9AM-5:30PM  (Hours may vary)

Responsibilities: Provide direct training services and professional supervision over the daily programs provided by the direct service personnel as well as provides person-centered case management services for the individuals we serve.

Job Duties:  

  • To train and supervise staff to support individuals acquiring skills in areas of their person-centered plans including but not limited to independent living skills, skills to support successful community participation, communication skills, self-advocacy, personal and social skills.
  • Good leadership and supervisory skills to include deep listening, ability to work with and engage various personalities.  
  • Ability to provide guidance and feedback to support staff growth so they are empowered.  
  • To conduct team meetings, prepare reports for and participate in planning meetings for individuals supported. 
  • To develop relationships with Community members for potential job opportunities. person-centered goal plans and instructional plans for individuals.  

 

Qualifications:  

  • High School diploma or equivalent with four years working in the human services field, and one year working with individuals with disabilities 
  • or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and one year experience working with individuals with disabilities.   
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, be available during evenings & weekend hours.
  • Demonstrated competencies in active listening, teaching, task analysis, behavior management, curriculum development and person-centered planning.  
  • Ability to make good decisions in a timely manner based on analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment. To be flexible, able to think on your feet. 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.  
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills. Need to be a good communicator.
  • Think outside the box, flexible, team player, work with outside organizations.   
  • Ability to inspire others  
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using computer software and email applications
