About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Porter to become a part of our vibrant and friendly Hotel team!
We are looking for enthusiastic applicants who know how to impress our guests, ensuring a warm, friendly and efficient welcome at every interaction with a hotel guest or visitor. Team players who will provide the highest levels of customer service while ensuring professionalism and efficiencies every time a guest enters the hotel.
This part-time permanent role at Sudima Christchurch City requires a minimum of 20 hours per week with the pay rate of $27.25. A full driver's license is required. You need to be flexible and have the ability to work overnight shifts.
Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa
- Providing a warm and welcoming environment within our hotel where everyone feels at home.
- Assisting with valet parking and luggage.
- Supporting the Duty Manager with guest requests/tasks
- Resolve any guest issues promptly and successfully ensuring follow-up and excellent communication at all times
- Hotel security floor checks
- Providing local information on Christchurch and the surrounding area
- Help guests with booking activities, restaurants, and travel options
- Maintaining a clean and tidy environment in all common areas, both inside and outside the hotel
- Fix minor technical issues, like changing bulbs, remote control batteries
- Comply with health and safety regulations and follow emergency evacuation procedures

- Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and overnight shifts.
- The shifts will be consecutive.
- Confident, motivated, and dedicated to providing excellent guest service.
- Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Flexible, adaptable, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
- A valid New Zealand driver's license is required; manual driving skills are a plus.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand.
