About the Role

Job Title: Library Page
Department: Library
Status: Part-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Library Director

Position Summary
The Library Page is an at‑will public service position that supports daily library operations. This role assists with circulation services, sorting and shelving materials, helping patrons locate and use resources, and maintaining the overall organization and appearance of the library.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 • Assist patrons at the circulation desk, including checking materials in and out and processing returns.
 • Help patrons locate library materials and provide basic reference assistance.
 • Assist patrons in using library computers, applications, and the Internet.
 • Manage reserve materials, notify patrons of availability, and process interlibrary loan requests.

Additional Duties
 • Maintain orderly library spaces by shelving and organizing materials.
 • Assist with filing, processing new books and periodicals, and minor repair of library materials.
 • Perform opening and closing procedures.
 • Process new library cards.
 • Support library programs by preparing materials and helping with setup and cleanup.
 • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 • Enjoy working with people of all ages and handle frequent interruptions positively.
 • Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
 • Ability to operate general office equipment, including computers, copiers, and fax machines.
 • Basic technology skills and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
 • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Entry Requirements
 • Education: Completion of at least 8th grade.
 • Experience: Prior library experience preferred but not required.
 • No licenses, certifications, or residency requirements.
 • No drug testing or additional testing required.

Work Environment

Hours of Work
 Work hours vary based on library needs and may include after‑school hours, evenings, and weekends. Number of hours per week is not guaranteed.
