PURPOSE
The Banquet Porter plays a vital role in the seamless execution of banquet events by managing the setup, service, and breakdown processes. Responsibilities include transporting heavy equipment, collaborating with kitchen team members, ensuring event success, and maintaining cleanliness by performing dishwashing duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Event Preparation: Arrange tables, chairs, and equipment per Banquet Event Order (BEO) to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Post-Event Cleanup: Efficiently dismantle setups and ensure cleanliness of the area to maintain professional standards.
- Guest Interaction: Provide attentive service by promptly addressing guest needs and requests with courtesy.
- Supply Management: Monitor and replenish supplies to ensure guests have what they need throughout the event.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with stewarding and kitchen team members to facilitate smooth event operations.
- Food and Beverage Transport: Safely and efficiently transport items between service areas, minimizing guest wait times.
- Cleanliness Standards: Maintain high standards of cleanliness in banquet and pre-function spaces.
- Equipment Care: Ensure all equipment is thoroughly cleaned and properly stored after use.
- Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment for guests and team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Seek feedback and identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
Skills and Abilities:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
- Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with guests and address their needs efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously follow Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members, stewarding, and other team members.
- Time Management and Urgency: Ability to manage tasks quickly and efficiently to ensure timely setup and breakdown of events.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
- Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication to coordinate with team members and respond to guest inquiries.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Capability to address and resolve issues quickly to maintain a seamless guest experience.
- Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Experience: Previous experience in hospitality or event setup is preferred but not mandatory.
PREFERRED
Education and Experience:
- Three (3) months of previous Porter experience.
Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel exercises Snoqualmie Tribal Member/Native American preference in hiring, in compliance with the Snoqualmie Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). You must obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Snoqualmie Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. The use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant for positions in any department other than Transportation (Valet, Driver I). DOT panel testing is required for the Driver position.
