About the Role

Description

DSA Doors is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations within our door production facility. This role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality production while meeting customer demand and operational performance targets.

The Production Manager plays a critical leadership role, overseeing multiple production areas and developing teams while partnering cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and HR to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Production Planning

  • Oversee all production activities including door assembly, custom operations, machining, stain/finish, material handling, and packaging
  • Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans aligned with customer demand and KPIs
  • Monitor and manage production metrics such as throughput, scrap, downtime, efficiency, and labor utilization
  • Ensure production lines are appropriately staffed and operating efficiently

Process Improvement & Quality

  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve flow and reduce waste
  • Partner with the Quality team to ensure adherence to product specifications and quality standards
  • Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Drive standardization of work methods and compliance with SOPs

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly supervise Production Supervisors, Leads, and frontline teams
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Support employee development through training, cross-training, and mentorship
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused production culture

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices
  • Ensure compliance with PPE use, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and material handling standards
  • Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation

Resource & Equipment Management

  • Partner with Maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to manage material availability and prevent shortages
  • Recommend equipment upgrades, technology enhancements, and process improvements to support production goals

Requirements


Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience leading production teams
  • Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement principles
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, workflow analysis, and ERP/MRP systems
  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations, safety programs, and quality systems

Preferred 

  • Experience in building materials, millwork, cabinetry, or door manufacturing
  • Proven ability to lead change and implement process improvements
