Montana Psychiatry, an entity Turnwell Mental Health Network, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Outpatient Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. The provider will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to our diverse
patient population in an outpatient setting. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary
team to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and
evidence-based care.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations, including comprehensive patient interviews, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
- Formulate accurate psychiatric diagnoses based on clinical assessments and diagnostic criteria.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, therapy, and other interventions as appropriate.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications in accordance with established guidelines and best practices. Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and potential side effects of medications.
- Conduct follow-up appointments to assess treatment efficacy, medication adherence, and patient progress.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including therapists, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records, documenting all patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and treatment plans.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric research, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices to continually enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all clinical practices, including confidentiality, informed consent, and patient rights.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to contribute to the growth and excellence of the clinic.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure in the state of Montana.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA-C), ideally with Certificate of Added Qualification in Psychiatry.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient psychiatric practice.
- Proficiency in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to maintaining professional development through ongoing education and training
