About the Role

Role Overview
The Senior Manager, Cable System Engineering is responsible for planning and augmenting global submarine cable capacity to meet current and future business requirements cost-effectively and achieving the Company's performance targets.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the planning and implementation of minternational submarine cable systems and projects.
  • Coordinate internally and externally for submarine cable project implementation and delivery.
  • Participate in project planning and implementation meetings and protect the Company’s interests.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with submarine cable providers for agreements, contracts and order forms.
  • Work with counterparts to manage PCCWG cable stations; resources to meet the Company's needs.
  • Oversee the quality of services and products provided and installed by cable partners and suppliers, meeting the Company’s expectations.\
  • Track and provide regular and ad hoc subsea cable CAPEX cashflow reports to Finance and Management.Provide technical support to the Product and Operations Teams for the effective use of subsea cable capacity and the operation and maintenance of cable system equipment. 

 

Requirements

  • A university degree in Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 7 years experience managing transmission equipment projects or submarine cable systems/projects
  • Well-versed in submarine cable systems and the latest telecommunications technologies
  • Practical experience in preparing procurement and tender documents
  • Demonstrates a strong results focus with a proven history of meeting ambitious project deadlines successfully
  • Good project management, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua).
