A Warehouse Associate is responsible for maintaining safe, organized, and fully operational company warehouses, storage yards, and other properties by accurately managing inventory, receiving and distributing materials, performing routine facilities maintenance and repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Responsibilities
Safety:
- Maintain a safe working environment by observing & reporting safety incidents, hazardous conditions, damaged or malfunctioning equipment or facilities, unsafe work practices or near misses, and other potential risks to health or safety.
- Properly label and store hazardous or potentially hazardous materials according to federal, state, and local laws in alignment with company policy.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required by working conditions or as directed.
- Operate material handling equipment per OSHA standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct regular facilities inspections as directed.
- Complete safety training & certifications as directed.
Materials Handling:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, or packing slips.
- Document and report damaged, defective, or missing items upon receipt.
- Stage and deliver materials and equipment to job sites and field crews as directed.
- Operate materials handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, rolling ladders, and push carts.
- Operate company-owned vehicles & trailers.
- Load, transport, and unload materials between company locations as directed.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely & efficiently.
Inventory Control:
- Perform accurate and regular inventory counts in alignment with company policy.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in inventory management system.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations as directed.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate variances.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, transfers, and adjustments.
- Enter purchase orders into the system as directed.
Facilities Maintenance & Repairs:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse, staging areas, loading docks, yard, and other locations as directed.
- Use landscaping equipment (rakes, leaf blowers, string trimmers, etc) to maintain vegetation on and around company properties.
- Secure all facilities, buildings, and storage areas at end of shift.
- Inspect warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet racking, dock levelers, etc.) and report maintenance needs.
- Perform minor facility repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.
- Maintain organized, clearly labeled storage areas to optimize space utilization.
- Support seasonal or project-driven warehouse reconfigurations.
- Monitor building systems (HVAC, lighting, fire suppression) and report issues promptly.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license & ability to pass MVR check.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of materials handling, inventory, or warehouse experience
- 2 or more years of experience in telecommunications, utilities, or similar. infrastructure industry in a warehouse, construction, or field support role.
- Previous forklift operating experience.

Digital Literacy: Basic computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workplace, inventory management systems, and purchase order systems.
Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Willing to learn and adapt with a commitment to ongoing professional growth. Ability to take on other duties as assigned.

- Frequently working indoors in a climate-controlled office environment.
- Frequently working indoors in a minimally climate-controlled warehouse environment
- Frequently working outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, dampness, and smoke.
- Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including high-visibility vest, hard hat, long pants, and closed-toed shoes.
- Occasionally exposed to moderate to loud noise levels from traffic, equipment, and other sources.
- Occasionally working in proximity to moving vehicles or construction equipment
This is a full-time, hourly position with a typical 40-hour work week occurring between Monday and Friday from 7:00AM to 4:00PM. This position occasionally requires additional work outside of the above typical schedule to meet deadlines or respond to emergencies.
This position is subject to ongoing MVR checks and random drug screens.
Travel Expectations
This position may occasionally require travel within the Hunter Communications network footprint of Oregon and Northern California as dictated by business needs, with overnight stays as required by circumstances.

- Constantly reading, understanding, interpreting, and analyzing purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, inventory sheets, order forms, and repair & maintenance documentation.
- Constantly observing workplace conditions
- Frequently ascending/descending rolling ladders, portable ladders, and stairs,
- Frequently climbing into and out of trailers, truck beds, cargo vehicles, etc.
- Frequently lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50lbs.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 100lbs, with or without assistance.
- Constantly moving about an indoor and outdoor warehouse and storage yard environment.
- Occasionally walking & carrying materials on unfinished jobsite surfaces.
- Constantly communicating both verbally and in writing with vendors and departmental stakeholders.
- Constantly using a computer to prepare documentation and communications; frequently operating handheld scanners, barcode readers, and RF devices.
- Frequently climbing into and out of vehicles and driving vehicles between locations.
- Frequently pushing/pulling carts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks with loads up to 250lbs.
- Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to access low shelving and floor-level storage.
- Frequently reaching overhead and at/below shoulder level to place and retrieve materials
- Constantly standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift
