Compensation for this position starts at $21.83 per hour, but offers can go up depending on experience and transferrable skills. This position is also eligible for incentives based on performance.

A Day in the Life:

As a full time Consumer Lending Specialist at People Driven Credit Union, you will be the cornerstone of our lending processes. Your role involves obtaining vital consumer and small business loan application information, while expertly meeting with members to assess their overall financial positions. As the subject matter expert in consumer lending, you'll be the first point of contact for any escalated application issues, ensuring that our members receive effective and efficient assistance throughout their lending journey. Conducting thorough interviews with loan applicants, you'll gather credit reports as well as any necessary documentation to process and review both secured and unsecured loans. 

Your expertise will enable you to counsel members on loan purpose, amounts, terms, and repayment options, ensuring the best financial outcomes for both the members and the credit union. In addition, you'll actively promote and cross-sell our range of Credit Union products and services, enhancing the member experience. 

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure that members are effectively and efficiently assisted in all aspects of the lending process and have the knowledge and resources available to meet their financial goals with a good understanding of product and services available from the credit union. 
• Conduct thorough interviews with loan applicants, obtaining credit bureau reports and any additional information/ documentation as needed for the processing and review of unsecured and secured loans.
• Council members on the purpose, amount, terms, and type of repayment. Ensuring we are placing the members and the credit union in the best financial position. 
• Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year in a consumer lending sales role is essential, allowing you to navigate the complexities of lending seamlessly.
• Familiarity with federal and state legislation as well as regulatory issues pertaining to collections, lending, and membership will be critical to ensuring compliance and best practices.
• Proficiency in software tools such as Zoom and Text concierge is necessary for effective communication and member engagement.
• Strong interpersonal skills are vital, as you will be conducting thorough interviews and counseling members on loan options.
