JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting Quality Management in performing a variety of administrative and investigative tasks for the Quality Department, helping with product testing in-process, and finished product of polymer products, and responsible for the assisting of the Quality Management Program using systems, protocols, and procedures.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform control sample testing to verify proper operation of product test equipment.
Ensure samples are tested in compliance with approved test methods.
Perform physical property testing including moisture, melt flow, viscosity, Ash, color and other related testing.
Report test results to production supervisors and/or production operators.
Record test results on paper copies and / or computerized databases.
Verify computerized entries and paper entries are accurate.
Ensure safety procedures are followed, and personal protective equipment is worn during receiving, handling and testing of samples.
Assist the Quality Manager in developing actions for the site to comply with customer requirements as well as requirements of the Quality Management System.
Review Lab results for Quality issues, coordinate and manage changes as necessary.
Help with Maintaining quality records, updating SOP’s, creating Standard Work.
Develop and maintain Failure Mode and Effect Analyses.
Help with the development of Control Plans.
Conduct Audits as needed.
Serve as a resource to Quality Management in the development and communication of internal corrective and preventive action plans.
Assist in developing responses to customer complaint inquiries.
Assist in the monitoring and measuring of Lab equipment.
Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining documentation for Corrective Action Requests and Preventive Action Requests.
Assist the Quality Manager in the identification and control of nonconforming products.
Quality Checks on Production Floor, Warehouse, Etc.
Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to write legibly.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to understand and follow approved test methods.
Experience in a Lab environment preferred.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Experience in Lab procedures and Quality Control Methods preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Attention to detail.
Problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Experience with Quality Management Systems.
Experience with Quality System Audits. Experience in lab safety procedures.
