Your Role at St John of God, Midland Hospital
You will provide strategic and operational leadership to the psychology service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across the organisation. This role will oversee clinical governance, workforce management, and service development, supporting psychologists and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The Psychology Manager is responsible for maintaining professional standards, driving quality improvement and risk management initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
With a strong focus on leadership, mentoring, and service innovation, the role promotes a collaborative, patient-centred culture aligned with the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
The Position
Lead and manage day-to-day Psychology services aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
Oversee workforce planning, rostering, and resource management to ensure effective service delivery.
Provide advanced clinical care, including assessment, care planning, and complex case management.
Supervise, mentor, and support psychologists, including provisional psychologists and students.
Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, legal, and accreditation standards.
Drive service development, quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
Build and maintain strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Manage performance, professional development, and workforce planning within the team.
Contribute to organisational leadership, committees, and service improvement initiatives.
Promote effective communication, teamwork, and stakeholder engagement across services.
Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety standards and promote a safe workplace.
Support environmental sustainability and organisational goals in all activities.
The Position Requirements
You will possess a tertiary qualification in Psychology and current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA). You will demonstrate extensive senior-level clinical experience and in-depth knowledge of contemporary psychotherapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, Schema-Focused Therapy and ACT, with proven ability to deliver both individual and group therapy.
A strong foundation in evidence-based practice is essential, including experience in delivering both short- and longer-term therapeutic interventions, alongside a solid understanding of clinical research methodologies.
You will have proven experience in providing clinical education, supervision, and support to junior staff and students. An AHPRA endorsement relevant to the clinical specialty is desirable and will be highly regarded.

We can offer you
Salary: $147,995 to $156,145 per annum pro-rata basis, plus 12% superannuation
Permanent part-time position, working 22.8 hours per week
