Pay: Range starts at $31.88/hour (pay is calculated based on years of licensed experience)

Schedule: PRN - Flexible days | On call | After hours & weekends apply

Job Summary

The Therapist I (ACMHC, AMFT, CSW, CSW-I, LMSW) with the Tooele MCOT team provides rapid, on-site intervention for individuals in behavioral health crises. They work with the Crisis Worker's to help provide services in the community, whether at homes, schools, shelters, or workplaces and assesses needs, de-escalates situations, and connects individuals to appropriate services to reduce the need for psychiatric hospitalization. The Therapist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to prioritize client care and achieve treatment objectives. The Therapist ensures compliance with ethical standards, participates in professional development, and maintains timely documentation.


Essential Functions

  • Responds to program and/or community crises
  • Triages and screens clients in crisis to assess life-threatening situations, including risk of suicide and/or homicide, evaluate safety, acuity/danger, and determine medically necessary services
  • Performs mental health status exams to assess for psychiatric concerns or level of care needs
  • Follows agency documentation policies for all phases of treatment, including assessments, care plans, treatment transitions and discharge plans, and client care
  • Collaborates with internal and external multidisciplinary teams regarding clinical aspects of treatment
  • Adheres to ethical and legal standards set by licensing boards and state regulations
  • Participates in ongoing professional development activities to meet licensure, certification, and/or other agency requirements
  • Utilizes prescribed de-escalation and resolution methods for helping support at risk community members
  • Mobilizes community resources in an efficient and effective manner
  • Develops strategies to alleviate the immediate threat/risk during a crisis call
  • Uses the consultative process to properly assess the need for community collaboration during a crisis
  • Keeps timely records that adhere to all state and program requirements
  • May be required to use own vehicle for responding to after-hours crisis calls

Requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree – Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or equivalent

Experience

  • None

Licenses/Certificates

  • ACMHC, AMFT, BCBA, CSW, CSW-I, LMSW licensure in state of practice
  • Agency provided certifications
