About the Role

AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, LA. In the position of Sales Associate you will establish and maintain effective relationships with agents within assigned states and regions, meet corporate objectives for each state within the assigned region, and Independent agency contact geared for premium production and submission activity. 

Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the mission and success of AMERISAFE
  • Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, multi-tasking, data entry and decision making skills
  • Requires a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Basic typing and computer skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Professional comportment with a strong sense of customer service
  • Experience in a customer service or call center position is preferred
  • Must be detail oriented and dedicated to quality task completion
  • Professional written and verbal communication

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Existing Agency Development:
    • The Sales Associate is responsible for developing and maintaining agency relationships. Contact with independent agents is assigned by management on a weekly basis with specific messages.
    • Average of 70 agency calls per week. A successful agency contact is defined as making contact engaging in a productive conversation with the workers' comp producer/CSR of any agency.
    • CRM Database Update. Detailed notes should be maintained in the customer relationship management system for each agency contact – including when letters or emails are sent.
    • Geaux Assignments: The Sales Associate will assist when needed for projects concerning the Geaux software system.
    • Assist in team efforts, training and filling in during absences or as otherwise specified.
  • Pursue a program for personal and professional development.
  • Follow all procedures and guidelines set by the Company/Department.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Contact Internal AMERISAFE departments and external agents.
  • The position may require additional duties to be assigned. 
  • Foster the AMERISAFE culture by embracing the pillars of consistency, focus, frugality, ownership and service.
